[NL] Hanna Steenbergen-Cockerton behaalde een bachelor in Textielontwerp aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie en een master in Artistic Research aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Haar artistieke praktijk maakt gebruik van quiltmaken als een vorm van uithoudingsambacht om emotionele ervaringen te verwerken, met de nadruk op thema’s als ongemak en emotionele veerkracht. Hanna was hoofd van de TXT-afdeling aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie, waar ze studenten begeleidde en de visie van de afdeling mee vormgaf. Ze deelt haar expertise ook via workshops zoals ‘Something Outta Nothing’, waarin ze duurzaamheid en gemeenschap bevordert via patchwork. In haar huidige rol bij het Ambulant Kunst Team van Cordaan zet ze creatieve expressie in om mensen met gezondheidsuitdagingen te ondersteunen, en bevordert ze veerkracht en verbondenheid door middel van artistieke praktijk.

Nadja van der Weide is een sociaal theatermaker met expertise in interactieve en performatieve kunst die maatschappelijke kwesties en interpersoonlijke dynamieken bevraagt. Ze behaalde een MA in Reinventing Daily Life aan het Sandberg Instituut en een BA in Culturele Studies. Haar werk creëert ruimte voor introspectie bij het publiek en daagt maatschappelijke conventies uit. In spraakmakende voorstellingen, zoals de Common Good-serie, onderzoekt ze thema’s als eigenaarschap, technologie en participatie binnen lokale gemeenschappen. Op dit moment werkt Nadja aan een Professioneel Doctoraat waarin ze onderzoek doet naar co-gecreëerde, sociaal betrokken kunstpraktijken en hoe deze sociale interacties kunnen transformeren. In haar communitygerichte projecten ligt de nadruk op samenwerking, betrokkenheid en sociale verandering.

Hanna en Nadja werken al meer dan vijf jaar samen. Hun praktijken komen samen in gedeelde interesses in zorg, gemeenschap en maatschappelijke vraagstukken. Ze begonnen hun samenwerking tijdens het Art & Research Honours Programme aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie, waar ze via collectieve Socratische dialogen artistiek onderzoek verkenden. Beide kunstenaars raakten steeds meer geïnteresseerd in sociaal geëngageerde kunst, mede door hun frustraties over het individualisme binnen de beeldende kunst.
